Lycaea – Of the Wolves

An Homage to Artemis

Blogging – a new type of journalism?

by admin - May 26th, 2010

Khairete!

I am currently BETA testing Microsoft Word 2010 so I am therefore going to post, well a post.

Because of the time spent trying to sort the blog out (which it now is) I am just going to recap everything that I feel is relevant, or what I feel you would like to know.

Anyway, relatively recently I became a member of a group with like beliefs in being Hellenic Re-constructionists and I have started to take a semi-active role in the posting of messages and the asking of questions which shows that I have more faith than I originally believed which is a good thing, in my opinion. Another thing that I have started doing properly is recording the dates of important festivals and trying to find an UK based ones. The latter part is proving to be rather tricky but I am sure I shall prevail, as for the first item I mentioned – June 6th is Artemisia which is just a day of general freedom and of course, me being in the middle of exams, I am looking forward to that one. As for anymore coming up anytime soon, there are none however I have found out that each month; the sixth day was considered to be sacred to Artemis. Although I do not know why yet, I am hoping to find out just so I can tell you. Another thing that I am aiming to do is to research further into Hellenic groups as well as into Neokoroi itself. This is just to satisfy my own curiosity since I am new to this “whole” thing.

Other items of interest are mainly to do with my belief in the Deities, particularly Artemis, and my current mission of attempting to help others believe. I believe I have successfully done this with a few people and the next step is lowering them gently into this since although the initial beliefs are there, they are also new to this. Its scary how much I sound like some sort of evil convertor who will convert all others but in this case, it is not true. Another point that I have noticed is the fact that through discovering Hellenic polytheism, I have been more prone to philosophical or theological arguments which I may add is not necessarily a bad thing.

All in all, a pretty decent time for me. Of course, other things have happened including being plagued with certain dreams that disturb me and various repercussions from being a new follower; rules disobeyed. Still, times a’changin’.

Now, if anything else comes up that require your attention, I will be sure to bring them up in another blog post.

That’s all for now!

Problems with the site…

by admin - May 18th, 2010

Unfortunately, for some reason the forum has deleted all of the posts and will not allow me to change theme. I am trying my hardest to sort this out but for now, this will have to do…

So, I will now proceed to talk and talk about whatever comes to mind, all of which I hope will be related to the worship of my patron deity; Artemis.

So, check out my other posts and I will also try and repost some of my earlier ones.

That’s all for now!

Stefanos.
